Research peptide vendors
16 storefronts selling peptides as research-use-only material, read from their own sites and checked against FDA's warning letter database. Each profile records the catalogue, what the vendor publishes about lab reports, shipping and payment, and whether the shop is still trading. A listing is not an endorsement.
This page reports what published studies found. It is not medical advice, no provider-patient relationship is created by reading it, and nothing here is a recommendation to use any compound. Talk with a licensed clinician about your own situation. Read the full disclaimer.
What “research use only” means, and the market it sits in
Every vendor in this section sells material labelled for research, laboratory or analytical use and not for human consumption. That label is not a formality and it is not a loophole. It is the seller stating that the product has not been through the approval or compounding systems that govern medicines, and that it is not intended for a person.
The market is under active enforcement. FDA's public warning letter database shows a continuing run of unapproved-new-drug and misbranding letters to peptide sellers: Gram Peptides and Pink Pony Peptides on 31 March 2026, Wholesale Peptide on 17 June 2026, and five on a single day, 24 August 2026, to Peak Performance Peptides, Royal Peptides, NuScience Peptides, Peptide Partners and Tex Peptides. Of the vendors profiled here, one appears in that database: Swiss Chems, letter dated 10 December 2024.
Criminal exposure is real as well. In the Northern District of Indiana, the operators of Paradigm Peptides entered guilty pleas on 10 December 2025 over products sold as SARMs that in fact contained testosterone and over unapproved peptide and hCG products; both were sentenced in July 2026. Separately, payment processors have been withdrawing from this category, which is why so many storefronts route buyers to crypto, Zelle or bank wire rather than a card.
There is a lawful route for several of these compounds, and it is not this one. At its meeting on 23–24 July 2026, FDA's Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee voted to recommend BPC-157, KPV and TB-500 (8–6, one abstention) and MOTS-c (7–5, two abstentions) for the section 503A bulk drug substances list. That vote is advisory: FDA decides, and where compounding proceeds it runs through a licensed prescriber and a licensed pharmacy, not a research storefront.

The state of this market in 2026
Three years ago a research-peptide buyer had a stable set of large storefronts to choose from. That is no longer the picture. Peptide Sciences, the largest of them, posted a three-sentence closure notice on 6 March 2026 and went dark without saying anything about open orders. Of the sixteen vendors we checked on 16 September 2026, three no longer have a working shop at all: one closed on its own announcement, one now redirects to an unrelated coupon page, and one has a parked domain. A fourth serves only a maintenance notice.
The survivors have changed shape too. Two of them now require an account before showing a single product. Three return errors or browser challenges to any automated request. Several have moved their GLP-1-class products behind codes rather than compound names. And payment has fragmented: one vendor markets ordinary card checkout as its differentiator, while another publishes a step-by-step walkthrough for paying by Zelle with a one-time identifier and a screenshot emailed to support.
None of that is decoration. It is what a market looks like when enforcement tightens and payment processors withdraw. The practical consequence for a reader is that the things worth checking — is there a lot report, who issued it, where does the material ship from, what happens to an order if the site disappears — are exactly the things that are getting harder to see. Each profile below records what we could verify and says plainly where a site blocked us.
How to read the statuses
- Open
- Storefront was reachable and taking orders when we last checked.
- Paused
- Storefront is up but not selling — a maintenance page, a hold, or no readable catalogue.
- Closed
- Storefront is gone: shut down, parked, or redirected somewhere that is not a shop.
Paused and closed vendors keep their page and carry no outbound link. They stay listed because the searches keep happening, and an honest answer about a vendor that has gone is more useful than a dead link.

CertaPeptides
20 tracked compoundsCertaPeptides is a European supplier shipping from Romania to 31 countries, and it is not a United States seller. For a reader in the United States that is the first relevant fact; for a reader in Europe it is the reason the vendor exists, since most of the storefronts in this section ship domestically within the United States only.

Ion Peptides
13 tracked compoundsIon Peptides trades at ionpeptide.com and serves a browser-check challenge to automated requests, so the catalogue below was read through a rendering fetch on 2026-09-16 rather than a plain one. The company's published contact address is in Sheridan, Wyoming, a registered-agent address used by a large number of unrelated businesses, so it does not tell a reader where anything is made or shipped from.

24 tracked compoundsPenguin Peptides returned 403 Forbidden to every direct automated request we made on 2026-09-16, including its sitemap, while serving its robots.txt normally. The catalogue below was read through a rendering fetch instead, so it reflects the live shop pages rather than a cached copy. Site-level blocking of this kind is common among research vendors and is not by itself a red flag.

Polaris Peptides
27 tracked compoundsPolaris Peptides puts its whole storefront behind a sign-in. Every page we requested on 2026-09-16, including the homepage, the shop and the payment and shipping page, redirected to an account login. That is a deliberate choice some vendors have made as enforcement has tightened, and it means a prospective buyer cannot read the terms before creating an account.

Swiss Chems
FDA letter on recordSwiss Chems is the one vendor in this section we could confirm has received an FDA warning letter. FDA issued it on 10 December 2024 under MARCS-CMS 695663, addressed to Swisschems at a New York mailing address. The letter states that FDA reviewed the website at swisschems.is in October 2024 and observed that it offered semaglutide and retatrutide products for sale in the United States, and that it also reviewed the company's Facebook and Instagram pages.

Peptide Sciences
0 tracked compoundsPeptide Sciences was the largest research-peptide storefront in the United States, and on 6 March 2026 it closed. The notice posted that day said the company had decided to voluntarily close all operations and discontinue the sale of all research products. It ran to three sentences. It said nothing about open orders, refunds or a reason.

Frequently asked questions
What does research use only actually mean?
It means the seller is stating the material has not been through the approval or compounding systems that govern medicines and is not intended for a person. Every vendor on this page prints some version of that line. It is a description of what the product is, not a disclaimer that makes a research chemical into a medicine.
Are research peptide vendors legal?
Selling a chemical to a laboratory for research is lawful. Selling an unapproved drug for human use is not, and that distinction is what FDA's warning letters to peptide sellers turn on. FDA issued letters to Gram Peptides and Pink Pony Peptides on 31 March 2026, to Wholesale Peptide on 17 June 2026, and to five sellers on 24 August 2026. The Justice Department obtained guilty pleas in a gray-market peptide case in December 2025.
Why did Peptide Sciences shut down?
On 6 March 2026 it posted a three-sentence notice saying it had decided to voluntarily close all operations and discontinue the sale of all research products. No reason was given, and nothing was said about open orders. We have found no FDA warning letter naming the company, so attributing the closure to any single cause would be a guess.
Which vendors publish certificates of analysis?
Some publish lot reports where anyone can open them, some say reports exist on request, and some publish nothing. The facts table on each profile records which, and the vendor pages say how we checked. A purity figure printed on a product page is the vendor's own claim until the report for that lot is read.
Do you publish vendor discount codes?
No. We do not issue codes, and we do not have private arrangements that produce them. Where a vendor runs a public promotion, such as a free-shipping threshold or a spend tier, the profile records it. A code presented as ours is fabricated.
What is the alternative to buying from a research vendor?
For a person rather than a laboratory, the lawful route runs through a licensed prescriber and a licensed pharmacy. Our online peptide therapy section compares telehealth programs on prescriber type, pharmacy model, labs, state coverage and published pricing, and each compound profile states what can be prescribed today.
Want it prescribed instead?
Online peptide therapy compares telehealth programs on prescriber type, pharmacy model, labs, state coverage and published pricing. The clinic directory lists in-person options by state.
